True H13 HEPA Standard
To meet the HEPA standard, the filter must remove 99.97% or more of all particles which is 0.3μm in diameter. In other words, for every 10,000 particles that are 0.3μm in diameter, only three of them pass through.
HEPA H13-H14 are within the highest tier of HEPA and considered as medical-grade quality. Whereas H10-H12 filters only trap 85-99.5% of all particles that are 0.1μm in diameter, HEPA H13 and H14 trap 99.97% and 99.995% of such particles, respectively.
That makes any harmful substance that might threaten your respiratory system is filtered out (including PM2.5).
Titanium Dioxide Photocatalyst
Photocatalysis is the activity occurring when a light source interacts with the surface of semiconductor materials, the so-called photocatalysts. During this process, there must be at least two simultaneous reactions occurring, oxidation from photogenerated holes, and reduction from photogenerated electrons.
The photocatalytic properties of anatase, one of the three naturally occurring forms of titanium dioxide, were discovered in Japan in the late 1960s. Under the influence of UV radiation in sunlight, it can decompose organic pollutants such as bacteria, fungi and nicotine, and some inorganic materials into carbon dioxide. The catalytic effect is caused by the nanostructure of its crystals.
